March 6 to 11 is Audubon’s Pi Day Auction
From main dishes to scrumptious desserts, Audubon Community Nature Center has great choices in their annual online Pi Day Pie Auction Fundraiser, March 6 to 11. Buildings and Grounds Manager Terris Monroe is offering this tantalizing peppermint Bavarian cream pie.
Audubon Community Nature Center is celebrating Pi Day, March 14, with bidding for their annual Pie Auction Fundraiser set from Friday to Wednesday, March 6 to 11.
Whether you’re dreaming of a classic or something adventurous, you can bid on your favorite baker, your favorite flavor, or both. The scrumptious homemade pies-from vegetarian main dishes to delectable desserts-are created by Audubon staff, board members, and volunteer bakers.
The online Pie Auction 2026 bidding takes place at AudubonCNC.org/Pie-Auction. Bidding starts at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, March 6 and ends at 11:45 p.m., Wednesday, March 11.
Aaron Sidder, Audubon’s new executive director, says, “This is my first time participating and I can’t wait! My wife and I are going to tackle a banana cream. I’ve never made a pie that doesn’t involve filling out of a can, so it’ll be a new adventure.”
The luscious dessert choices include chocolate chip “pig-out” pie, blueberry with lattice top, banana cream (GF), cinnamon candy apple, peppermint bavarian cream, ginger pear, lemon curd (GF), Crown’s chocolate espresso, apple, key lime, triple berry, salted maple, and peanut butter dream.
Hearty main dishes include spaghetti, vegetarian garden and chicken pot pies.
Winners must be able to pick up their pies in-person at the Nature Center on Saturday, March 14 between noon and 4:30 p.m. All pies will be in a dish that is yours to keep (or recycle).
Pictures, ingredients, and descriptions of the pies and their makers accompany each of the pies at the auction site, AudubonCNC.org/pie-auction.
Once you place your bid, keep checking back to be sure you are not outbid. Or choose the “buy now” price and guarantee you will be a winner.
All proceeds support Audubon buildings, grounds, and staff to continue to provide the community a safe place to get outside and enjoy the benefits of nature. Audubon nature educators visit schools across Chautauqua, Warren and Cattaraugus counties to teach interactive lessons on nature, lead walks on and off site, and offer weeks of Day Camp in the summer.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren, Pa. You can visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike, snowshoe or cross country ski the six miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals, the 2025 Nature Photography Contest winners, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1-4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
