Hamels wins Working Families Party endorsement
John “Doc” Hamels
RIPLEY — John “Doc” Hamels announced the endorsement of the New York Working Families Party (NYWFP), a grassroots political organization dedicated to building a New York that works for working people. Hamels is running for County Legislator in District 19 that includes Ripley and Westfield.
“The Working Families Party has been at the forefront of the fight for affordable housing, universal childcare, healthcare for all, and protecting immigrant communities,” said Hamels. “I’m honored to earn their endorsement and proud to stand alongside a movement fighting for a Working Families Guarantee. I come from a long line of blue-collar workers and my dad was a proud 30-year union member of the United Auto Workers.”
The Working Families Party leaders cited Hamels’ commitment to delivering a home New Yorkers can afford, expanding access to childcare, lowering healthcare costs, and defending immigrant communities from federal attacks.
