Man injured in fire

A resident was injured in a fire Friday evening in the town of Westfield. After extinguishing the fire at 8741 Barber Road, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation team was requested to the scene to conduct an origin and cause fire investigation. The investigation found the fire was caused by a clogged dryer vent inside the residence. The resident, a male was transported to a Pennsylvania Hospital for injuries sustained in the fire, which was accidental in nature. Responding departments included: Clymer, Ripley, Portland, Westfield and Chautauqua County EMS. The call came in around 5:35 p.m.
