Redline Drive-In reopening this spring

MAYVILLE – After close to a decade of being closed, the Redline Drive-In will be seeing a return to operation this spring.

Through a revamping of the business’s social media, a series of announcements has been made throughout the previous weeks about the reopening.

The restaurant has held a particular historical significance to the area for a long time. Beginning in the early 1960s, the location was one of the earlier “Dogs and Suds” restaurants opened, a group that would expand to more than 600 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada by the mid 70s. Eventually, the Dogs and Suds brand would dwindle throughout time, closing the land restaurant in 2015. The Mayville location would be closed long before then though. However, in 2004 it would find a new owner that was eager to keep the business alive.

In 2004, Tom Anzalone Properties, LLC would purchase the location, renovating it with family to create the Redline Drive-In. Though nearly 15 successful years had been had at the restaurant, the family was unable to reopen for the 2018 season, announcing initial plans to attempt to still open in 2019. These plans did not seem to come to fruition though, as all of the business’s social media went silent after then.

During this past summer though, the location was purchased. The sale happened sometime between during the period of July 18-24, 2025. This sale would transfer the property from Anzalone to Daniel Kenzie for $300,000. Only a few months later on Dec. 19, 2025, the restaurant’s Facebook page would share an announcement that the Redline would be returning under new management in the Spring. Under the new ownership of Redline LLC, four locals have come together to bring back a staple for the area. These individuals include Dan Kenzie, Brian Stahlsmith, Marya Johnson, and Jessica Gordon.

“Each of us are thrilled to be a part of bringing Redline back online! From A&W, Dog and Suds, The Feedbag, to Redline we are committed to restoring the nostalgia as well as the good food,” the restaurant stated in a recent social media post. “Each of us have extensive backgrounds in the restaurant industry and we are dedicated to reviving a place that represents great food, community, and the glory of the 50s. Welcome to Redline and we can’t wait to serve you.”
