The theme for April is Embracing Possibility. On Sunday, “Accompanying New Neighbors Through Uncertainty” will include guest speaker Momina Di Blasio, Program Director for the New Neighbors Coalition in Jamestown.

Di Blasio shares, “In the face of shifting immigration policies and the heightened fear many immigrant families are experiencing, the New Neighbors Coalition program continues to walk alongside some of our community’s most vulnerable, so they don’t have to navigate these challenges alone.”

Di Blasio is the Program Director for the New Neighbors Coalition program housed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. In her role, she is deeply committed to advocating for and supporting marginalized individuals in ways rooted in intersectionality and inclusivity. As an immigrant with firsthand experience navigating the challenges faced by non-U.S.-born individuals, her work is driven by a passion for language accessibility, immigrant equity, and cultural humility in both her professional and personal life.

Through the New Neighbors Coalition, she supports newly arrived immigrants as they navigate life in the region and build connections within the community. In her role, she also engages with US-born residents in efforts to foster a more welcoming Chautauqua County through educational opportunities, meaningful dialogue, and cultural celebration.

Di Blasio has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from George Mason University and a Master of Public Administration from State University of New York Brockport. Currently, she serves on the Education Solution Team of the Chautauqua County Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Coalition (IDEA). Previously, Momina was a mayor-appointed member of the City of Jamestown Commission on Human Rights from November 2020 to November 2023.

She and her spouse found their way to Jamestown from Northern Virginia in 2020 and are so grateful to be a part of this tight-knit, Western New York Community. They live on the northside, with their dogs, the real ones in charge.
