Festivals Fredonia, Inc., in partnership with the Fredonia First Methodist Church, is proud to announce the overwhelming success of the fifth Annual Fredonia Easter Festival. The event took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., drawing families from across the community for a day of celebration and tradition.

The festival featured a robust lineup of family-friendly activities designed to engage children of all ages. Highlights included:

— Creative Stations: Donut decorating, Kids Easter crafts, and a coloring contest.

— Community Dining: A popular pancake breakfast hosted at the church.

— Festive Competitions: A jellybean counting contest and the highly anticipated Easter egg hunt.

— Special Guests: Children enjoyed a unique opportunity to sit for photos with the Easter Bunny, with each participant receiving a complimentary chocolate bunny.

The day concluded at Barker Common, where thousands of candy-filled eggs were hidden for the community egg hunt. Among the thousands of eggs were four “Golden Ticket” eggs, providing a special surprise for the lucky finders.

“This event is a testament to the power of our community coming together,” said Michele Joy, committee chairperson for the festival and vice-chair for Festivals Fredonia, Inc. “As a volunteer-run non-profit, we are incredibly grateful for the partnerships that make these traditions possible.”

The success of the festival was made possible through the generous support of local sponsors and dedicated volunteers, including:

— Local Businesses: Tim Hortons Fredonia, Chia’s Chocolates, Aaron’s Easter Candy featuring Parkside Chocolates, and Fredonia Walmart.

— Community Partners: Fredonia American Legion Post 59 Women’s Auxiliary, Fredonia First Methodist Church, Fredonia Middle School Service Learning Club, and the Fredonia Fire Department.

— Individual Volunteers: Janet Gilman, John Lowther, Brooke Erick, Bryan & Heidi Powell, Andy Dyckes and Michael Joy.

Special thanks to the Gold Level sponsors for 2026: Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, The Fredonia Beaver Club, and DFT Communications!
