Music, Movement classes for infants begin Saturday

SILVER CREEK — Families with little ones can get ready to sing, dance, move, and play as Saturday Morning Music and Movement classes for lap-sitting infants through preschool-aged children return to Just My Imagination Workshop – Parties and More beginning Saturday.

Each engaging 35-minute class is designed to encourage movement, music exploration, and interactive fun for young children. Following every session, families are invited to enjoy open playtime, giving children additional opportunities to explore, socialize, and continue the fun in an imaginative environment.

Classes will be taught by Helen Smit, who studied music education at SUNY Fredonia and currently teaches music for students in Pre-K through 4th grade. In addition to serving as a youth leader at her church, Helen has previously led music classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and the adults who love them. She is deeply passionate about the importance of early childhood music education and creating joyful experiences that foster learning through music and movement.

Dress comfortably as classes will be active and full of movement and socks are required and no shoes are allowed in the play space.

Advance registration is required and can be made by calling 716-672-2910. Classes are $15 per child, with multi-class packages and sibling discounts available.

Located at 341 Central Avenue in Silver Creek, Just My Imagination Workshop – Parties & More is an imagination-inspired, kid-powered, hands-on play space and party venue designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and meaningful play experiences.

Imaginative play is more than just fun–it is an essential part of a child’s development. In today’s world of screens and highly structured schedules, children need opportunities to explore, create, and make sense of the world through open-ended play. Imaginative environments foster problem-solving, language development, social skills, and emotional growth. Through pretending, building, and interacting freely, children naturally practice real-life skills such as cooperation, resilience, and creativity.

Thoughtfully designed for children from crawlers through age eight, the indoor play space provides a safe, engaging environment where imagination leads the way. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace, build confidence, and connect with others through meaningful play experiences that support healthy brain development and lifelong learning.
