Letter perfect in typing

Brocton Elementary School recently celebrated the success of its annual Typing Bowl 2026, the exciting culmination of a full year of keyboarding instruction for students in grades three through five. The event featured 20 finalists representing the school’s top student typists. Families, classmates, and staff gathered to cheer on competitors as students faced off in a fast-paced head-to-head typing competition. Elementary Computers teacher Kristin Zappie said she continues to be impressed by the growth her students show each year. She noted that in today’s digital world, strong keyboarding skills provide students with greater freedom and confidence when creating computer-based compositions and completing schoolwork. After an intense and closely contested competition, the top finishers were announced. Elyssa McNiff earned first place honors, followed by Nadalie Dituri in second place and Ellie Arnold in third place. All finalists were recognized for their hard work and dedication with medals and commemorative T-shirts. Following the competition, students and their families attended a special reception held after school in celebration of their achievements.
