Tree Service donates to WMH Foundation
Pictured from left are Westfield Memorial Hospital Facilities Manager, Danny Demarco, WMH Foundation Executive Director Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, and WMH Administrator Dr. Rodney Buchanan accepting a gift-in-kind donation for tree removal services from George Mathews of Mathews Tree Service. The donation will support ongoing maintenance and improvement efforts at Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Mathews Tree Service of Westfield, owned and operated by George Mathews, proudly donated $7,500 worth of professional tree removal services to the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation in May.
The donated services will help improve the safety, accessibility, and overall appearance of hospital grounds, ensuring a better environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike.
Mathews said the decision to give back was rooted in a deep appreciation for the hospital’s important role it plays — not only in his own family (where he and his siblings came into the world), but also in the extended community as well.
“Westfield Memorial Hospital is an essential part of the community – it’s where families turn in some of their most important and difficult moments,” said Mathews. “As a local business owner, I believe it’s important to support the institutions that take care of our friends and neighbors. This donation is just one way we can give back and help ensure the hospital continues to serve the Chautauqua region for many years to come.”
Mathews Tree Service has been supporting the Westfield area with professional, reliable tree care services and remains committed to strengthening the community through both its work and charitable efforts.
Dr. Rodney J. Buchanan, WMH Administrator, and Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, Executive Director of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation, praised the company’s owner who continues with his parents, Dale and Dave Mathews’ legacy of giving back to the community hospital
The Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation (now in its 47th year) supports high-quality patient care working with the hospital in providing financial support with on-going philanthropic partnerships and community engagements.
