SILVER CREEK -- Our region is filled with memories. We love to come back to the hometown we loved in our youth but, as time goes by, the history and memories of communities become lost due to blatant disregard of the importance of what made communities as cherished places in our lives. The people, the history and the buildings. They all meant something to us, but slowly, one by one buildings are abandoned and over time become irreparable and also irreplaceable. We all have seen them and wonder why. “Why doesn’t someone do something about it?” Well, here is your opportunity!
If you would like to be a part of saving the historic homes and properties in Hanover, Silver Creek and surrounding areas for future generations to enjoy, and cherish, please join us at a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Dining Car in Silver Creek on Central Avenue next to the Silver Creek Fire Station. We will explore the idea of establishing a community group with its mission to preserve and protect the vanishing historic buildings and properties of our communities.
