WESTFIELD – In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Westfield Time Capsule Memento Acceptance boxes are now available at the Eason Hall main hallway, Westfield Academy & Central School, and the Patterson Library during their normal business hours. Memento contributions will be accepted through Labor Day.

While the collection boxes are large to attract attention, please keep in mind that the final time capsule will be relatively small, estimated at approximately 24″ by 24″. Organizers ask that all donations be mindful of these size constraints.

Please contribute small mementos that will help future generations understand life in Westfield in 2026. Suggested items include coins dated 2026, photos, maps, stories, books about Westfield, ornaments, hats, t-shirts, or letters. We encourage you to be creative in helping us capture the essence of our community since its founding.

The Village and Town of Westfield would like to extend a special thank you to Scouting America Troop 201 of the Allegheny Highlands Council for envisioning and building these collection boxes. We recognize the efforts of scouts Brian Conley, Solomon Farnahm, John Johnston (Eagle Scout), Joseph Kendrick, Ian Kindermann, and Levi Kindermann, as well as troop leaders Joe Debiso, Elizabeth Kindermann, David Farnham, and Mike Kindermann.

Members of America’s 250th in Westfield Committee would also like to thank Westfield’s Community Beautification Chair Marilyn Hemmer and husband John for their tireless efforts at helping decorate and beautify Westfield.
