The annual Chautauqua County Fair was held featuring many displays in Floral Hall. The Town of Stockton display by Stockton Historian John Sipos shows much of the history of Stockton for the last 200 years. Stockton was named after one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Stockton. Stockton once held an annual picnic beginning in 1898, and the original picnic poster is on display among many other historical items. Stockton was once called Delanti, which meant a place where animals ran wild and there were many flowers. Stockton has its own government and the town supervisor is David Wilson. The display earned a blue ribbon. Helping with the display set up were Susan Sipos, Amy Davis and Travis Christy. Floral Hall is a historical building dating back to 1929, and constructed by Fredrickson Brothers Lumber of Cassadaga.
