There were no injuries reported in a Sunday morning fire at Dunkirk's Coburn Block.
The Dunkirk Fire Department rolled to the historic building on the corner of Second Street and Central Avenue at 7:59 a.m. Sunday. There was an automatic alarm activation. "Upon arrival, crews found the fire alarm activated and smoke coming from the first floor in the rear of 131 Central Ave," according to a press release from Fire Chief Nicholas Barter.
"Firefighters located a hot water tank on fire in the basement and quickly extinguished it," Barter stated. "There was minor damage and crews remained on scene for approximately an hour to clear smoke from the building. There were no injuries."
