Sales include Jamestown furniture store

A south county furniture store is under new ownership.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from June 8-12. The county does not provide transaction information, but real estate documents are available for review at the clerk's office.

During this time period, Bemus Designs, LLC sold 213-215 W. Fourth St., Jamestown to Maison Fayette, LLC for $545,000. This is the location of Lafayette Corners Furniture.

On Lafayette Corners' Facebook page, the business posted, "Dave and Pam (Pelow) are retiring from Lafayette Corners. They have passed the torch and sold the business to Frank Besse. The business will continue its commitment to selling high quality furniture paired with tremendous service."

Including the sale previously mentioned, from June 8-12 there were eight sales that were $300,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:

- 3565 Colburn Drive, Ellery sold for $600,000.

- 5747 Magnolia Rd. #116, North Harmony sold for $525,000.

- 1 Whisper Lane, Ellicott sold for $520,000.

- In Westfield, a 37-acre parcel on Barber Road, a six-acre parcel at 8851 West Main Rd., a 10-acre parcel on West Main Road, and a small parcel on North Portage Road were all sold for $480,753. The four parcels are mostly labeled vineyards on the county GIS site.

- 4524 W. Lake Road, Chautauqua town sold for $465,000.

- 61 Parkdale Drive, Jamestown sold for $399,900.

- 8 Drake Ave., Silver Creek sold for $300,000.

Overall, from June 8-12 there were 76 transactions. The full list of sales $5,000 or higher is as follows:

A referee for Ernest Rammelt sold a 37-acre parcel on Barber Road, a six-acre parcel at 8851 West Main Rd., a 10-acre parcel on West Main Road, and a small parcel on North Portage Road, Westfield to R. Chadwick Land Holdings, LLC of Westfield for $480,753. The four parcels are mostly labeled vineyards on the county GIS site.

Daniel Sciolino, Kerry Steffan Sciolino, Andrew Steffan and Madalyn Steffan sold 5747 Magnolia Rd. #116, North Harmony to Laura Ackerman for $525,000.

Stanley Young, Trinka Messenheimer and Marilyn Meckes sold 6525 Elmwood Ave., Chautauqua town to Marilyn Meckes for $85,000.

Barbara Koba sold 515 Swan St., Dunkirk to Laura Clark for $134,900.
