Monday is the United Nations International Day of Peace, established in 1981. At our gathering today we will explore the various aspects of peace as revealed by our own congregants. We will reaffirm that Peace is alive and well in the world.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said: "Peace is not just made at conference tables, but in classrooms, neighbourhoods, and everywhere people meet with open minds and open hearts. Together, day by day, we can build a more just world, with compassion, equality, and dignity for all."
Following the worship service, the Green Sanctuary Team will provide lunch, followed by an opportunity to participate in a get-out-the-vote postcard writing campaign in cooperation with the Center for Common Ground.
