Demonstrations held across state encouraging voting

On Saturday, Aug. 29, peaceful demonstrations were held throughout the state to encourage people to vote this November.
A total of 42 grassroots groups sent teams to 50 interstate overpasses and roadside ground locations, from Albany to Buffalo and throughout the Southern Tier. Citizens stood on overpasses in both directions and on roadsides, holding 15-foot banners emblazoned with slogans that urged them to vote in November. In Chautauqua County, four bridges were covered from Westfield up to Hanover, with 40 individuals participating.
Collectively, the groups shared the belief that the current leadership in Washington is harmful to America's economy and Constitution. Their stated goal is to "bring voters to the polls in the midterm elections to flip the House and Senate blue."
