Sales include old house by Dunkirk vets club

A veterans club in the northern end of the county has purchased a dilapidated house that sat next to it so it could tear it down and improve the property.
The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 1-7. The county does not provide transaction information, but real estate documents are available for review at the clerk's office.
During this time period, Dunkirk Veterans of World War II, Inc. purchased 220 East Lakeshore Drive, Dunkirk.
On Facebook, the club said it was buying the property so it could tear it down and expand their outdoor area.
Before the house was torn down, the club allowed the Dunkirk Fire Department to do some training in the building.
The house was torn down in early August.
During this time period, there were three transactions that were $300,000 or higher. They are as follows:
- 2949 West Oak Hill Rd., Ellicott sold for $379,999.
- 34 Schuyler St., Jamestown sold for $325,000.
- 1818 Swede Rd., Ashville sold for $300,000.
— 13 Babcock Ave., Silver Creek sold for $300,000.
