‘Tony’ showing at Fredonia Opera House

The Cinema Series continues at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center with screenings of the biopic "Tony" on Saturday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday night screening will be shown with captions visible on the screen.
A 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain (Dominic Sessa) travels to Provincetown and stumbles into the chaotic world of a chef (Antonio Banderas) and his restaurant kitchen, setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life.
Critic Peter Tavers calls the film "a riveting, rambunctious portrait of Anthony Bourdain as a young pain in the ass before he started inventing himself as the rock-star king of the culinary world." The Reveal calls it an "evocative and often hilarious coming-of-age story." The Hollywood Reporter calls it "a slender slice of a famous life." The New Yorker says "it's a youthful romance, a goofball gross-out, and a 'Karate Kid' fable rolled into one. You might get so caught up in the comedy that you forget you're watching a bio-pic." Rated R for pervasive language, drug use, and sexual content/nudity, "Tony" runs one hour, 46 minutes.
Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member.
