Mike Lee

Mike Lee has announced his candidacy for District 3 of the Chautauqua County Legislature, representing much of the village of Fredonia, town of Pomfret and Lily Dale. He has accepted the endorsement Democratic Party and Working Families Party, as well as the endorsement of the Dunkirk Labor Council, AFL-CIO.

Lee currently serves as a councilman for the Town of Pomfret. He also brings experience in nonprofit management from a career in nonprofit victim advocacy and social work. He has worked to help victims of crime navigate the criminal justice system, explore civil options for recovery, and to find supportive community connections for people in need. Mike has worked with community partners, local leadership, and state leadership to make policy changes that allow victims of crime better access to justice. Mike has also served as a union steward and has experience negotiating labor contracts on behalf of his membership.

He is running for the County Legislature to address financial issues, to tackle government overreach and provide accountability, and to ensure that people in need have access to the resources they need to succeed in Chautauqua County.

Lee believes too many people in Chautauqua County have lost faith in their government and want to see change. Lee points to his advocacy locally and at the County Legislature against Flock surveillance systems placed in the community without transparency or oversight as a demonstration of the kind of advocacy he will bring to the County Legislature.

Lee has said that decisions are made by those who show up, and he has worked hard to be an involved, active member of the community that he represents.
