Library lists coming events in Stockton

STOCKTON -- Residents of the Stockton and Cassadaga communities will have several opportunities to learn, socialize and enjoy family-friendly activities throughout October at the Seymour libraries and Stockton town offices.

The month's schedule begins today at 4:30 p.m. at Seymour Stockton with an Alzheimer's Association class, "Know the 10 Warning Signs." Those interested are asked to RSVP at Alz.org or by calling 1-800-277-3900.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., Seymour Cassadaga will host "Turtle Time Story Hour." Children can listen to the librarian read a story and meet some friendly turtles.

The Seymour Library Board will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. at Seymour Cassadaga.

Mary's Book Club will meet Thursday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. at the Town of Stockton Offices. The club features a new title each month. For more information, call 716-595-3822.

Medicare consultations with Rebecca Poynton will be available Friday, Oct. 16, from noon to 6 p.m. at Seymour Cassadaga. Appointments are required by calling 716-573-8783.

A hands-on class, "The Basics Part 4 -- Caulking," will be held Monday, Oct. 19, at 5 p.m. at Seymour Cassadaga. Teacher Biannca Riggle will lead the class. There is a $10 materials fee, and participants should bring their own caulking gun. Space is limited, so RSVP by calling 716-595-3822 or emailing Info@stocktonlibraries.org.

The Cassadaga Book Club will meet Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m. at Seymour Cassadaga. The club features a new title each month. More information is available by calling 716-595-3822.

Young readers will have another special opportunity Saturday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m., when library pups Dunsten and Stiv visit Seymour Cassadaga. Children can meet the dogs and practice their reading skills.

Additional Medicare consultations with Rebecca Poynton will be offered Monday, Oct. 26, from noon to 6 p.m. at Seymour Cassadaga. To schedule an appointment, call 716-573-8783.

The month's activities will conclude Saturday, Oct. 31, with Library Trick or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Children who are trick-or-treating in Cassadaga are invited to stop by the library and pick up a treat.
