Dr. John Hamels, Legislator Candidate for District 19 of Ripley, Westfield, South Ripley and Shore Haven, has received two additional endorsements.
Hamels has been endorsed by the Dunkirk Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO. "This endorsement is especially important to me, since I was raised in a blue collar, union supported family. My Dad was a 30-year member of the UAW at the Chevrolet Plant in Buffalo and I followed suit by being a long-time active member and Vice President of the Erie 2- Chautauqua County BOCES Teachers' Union [NYSUT]. I understand the importance of working together and respecting our hard-working labor force which is the backbone of our county."
Mark Poloncarz, Erie County executive, called Hamels recently to inform him that he was being endorsed by the "Boosting Future Leaders Onward" (BFLO) organization that covers a nine-state region. "To have been endorsed by this group is very humbling. Along with Aaron Gies, Congressional Candidate, we are the only BFLO endorsed candidates who will be representing Chautauqua County. I'm honored that BFLO values my 52 years of public service to both our local communities and county and being included in such an elite group of national candidates," Hamels said.
