Court rules twice in favor of condo project

The first two attempts by a group of residents opposed to a condominium near Dewittville have been declined by the state Supreme Court. Chautauqua town officials approved the project in January. The $70 million development will include condominiums, townhouses, single family homes, and a restaurant/tap house. The original plan has been modified and scaled back a few times. The development now calls for 174 residential units among the condos, townhouses and single houses. The restaurant/tap house would be open to the general public. New roads would be constructed. Hochul to sign less restrictive data center delay

New York state will have a one-year ban on construction of large data centers, but Gov. Kathy Hochul's executive order on the issue is less restrictive than legislation passed near the end of the state legislative session. Hochul announced early Tuesday morning that she will sign an executive order enforcing a statewide moratorium on hyperscale data centers to give state agencies time to put together rules requiring data centers to pay their fair share of utility costs, protect the environment and provide benefits to host communities.
