Partners In Kind remembers the magic

Submitted Photo Mrs. Claus reads to children and visits with attendees.

Earlier this month, Partners in Kind of Chautauqua County celebrated their second annual Remember the Magic at Elevation Combat Sports Academy.

Remember the Magic is a special event held for children and their caretakers who have experienced a significant loss over the past year. Some children in attendance this year are battling serious illness, or may have lost a parent or sibling.

A team of dedicated Partners in Kind transformed Elevation Combat Sports Academy into a winter wonderland, adorned with presents, and other holiday decor.

Mrs. Claus and a special elf picked up children in their families in a limousine, traveling across the county. The children enjoyed Christmas carols, storybooks, and one-on-on time with Mrs. Claus.

Upon entering the event, they were met by Partners in Kind members, holiday cheer, and a delicious meal. After the meal, they were welcomed into the larger gym for cookie decorating, crafts, hot cocoa and s’mores by Paul’s Rockets Stoves.

As the crafts came to an end, the children gathered around the fireplace for a story. As Mrs. Claus read the Polar Express, the children were each given a bell and were reminded to keep the bell close during the holidays when they are in need of some holiday cheer. As the story came to an end, and with help of some holiday magic, Santa came to visit with presents.

Partners in Kind would like to extend an enormous thank you to Fred’s Catering, G & E Tents, The United Way of Northern Chautauqua County, Paul’s Rocket Stoves, S and S Limousine, and as always David Harriger and Tamara Racino, owners of Elevation Combat Sports Academy and long time members of Partners in Kind.

It is the mission of Partners in Kind of Chautauqua County to facilitate charitable efforts and promote acts of kindness in our community. For more information you can find them on Facebook or visit their website at www.partnersinkindchq.org.
