Growing up Justin O’Brien was a member of Cassadaga Boy Scout Troop 219. For his Eagle Scout project, he decided to purchase, install and landscape two “Welcome to Cassadaga” signs, one on each side of the village. He raised the money needed and worked hard to make this a reality and the village of Cassadaga has been grateful ever since.

Now, 19 years later O’Brien, who recently returned to Cassadaga, noticed that the signs needed attention and volunteered to do it. He coordinated with Boy Scout Troop 219 and the Village of Cassadaga. Over the summer, they had two work days — one for the south end sign and one for the north end sign.

Cassadaga is very grateful and would like to thank this Eagle Scout who cared enough to make sure his project was maintained.
