Westfield music students selected for 2019 Honors Ensembles
Thirteen of Westfield’s finest music students were chosen for a variety of New York State School Music Association’s music festivals this fall. Students are chosen for these groups on the basis of their solo performance audition at a NYSSMA Solo Festival last May. They competed against students from Western New York, all of New York, or the entire country, depending on the group they were selected for. We are especially proud of Brad Belmondo, who was selected for one All National Ensemble, one regional northeastern United States ensemble, one Area All State Ensemble, and whose electronic composition was accepted for performance at the NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester. Brad is the first Westfield music student to be selected for any national ensemble. He is also principal trumpet in the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra. Congratulations to all of our fine young musicians!
