Dunkirk police confirmed this morning they were called to Brooks Memorial Hospital emergency room at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a victim with an apparent gunshot wound. No further details were available this morning as the investigation is ongoing. Most of the activity surrounding the alleged violent incident was being focused at Courtney and Nevins streets in the city of Dunkirk on Thursday. A witness who lives nearby arrived after the incident occurred and was questioned by police. At that time, the police told the witness there was nothing to be concerned about at the moment, but they were investigating an incident.
