The Silver Creek and Hanover Garden Club was formed in 2010 to promote the use, study, and enjoyment of flowers and plantings for members and the public.

The organization is a non-profit, civic minded group that beautifies the Silver Creek village and Town of Hanover with plantings at welcome signs, Veterans Memorial, the Silver Creek village hall, the town of Hanover hall and village park and gazebo. “We appreciate the support of the community of our Garden Faire held in May and our participation in the Festival of Grapes in September,” the group noted in a news release

Due to the ongoing pandemic, The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation canceled the BLOOM garden recognition program the club participates in. Despite that, it still wants to recognize outstanding gardens that beautify our community and encourage gardeners to keep up the good work. We are pleased to host an online virtual garden tour. The club is asking village gardeners, gardeners in the surrounding area and club members to submit photos of their plantings to our FaceBook page “The Silver Creek and Hanover Garden Club Group.”

Those interested in having your garden participate in the virtual garden tour, please submit a photo on our Facebook page. All you need to do is go to “The Silver Creek and Hanover Garden Club Group,” find our event named Silver Creek and Hanover Garden Club Virtual Garden Tour 2020, click on comment and submit your photo. Even if we must stay apart, we hope the virtual garden tour will bring some much needed enjoyment to our community. “We are also posting a July 7 video of the group’s village and town plantings this year and have included a virtual tour of BLOOM 2019 gardens that were recognized for your view pleasure,” the group noted.

“We are always welcoming new members to the club from the village and surrounding area. The club meetings are once a month on Saturday morning. Additional club activities include events, tours and speakers. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Bonnie silvercreekhanover.ny.gardenclub@gmail.com.”
