The Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club will hold its annual Gold Rush fundraiser, with the 2020 version held virtually due to COVID-19.

Prize winners will be announced Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. via both Facebook Live and Zoom. Details are on each ticket.

Proceeds from this charity event will help pay for $2,400 in in student scholarships to the Brocton, Chautauqua Lake, Sherman and Westfield school districts and $2,000 towards community service projects. Dan Smith and Tracy Bennett, Westfield-Mayville Rotarians and Gold Rush co-chairs, said 250 tickets will be sold.

“This year there will be many $25 gift certificates to area businesses, a third prize of $100, a second prize of a new 40-inch Samsung Smart TV, and the grand prize of $1,000,” Smith said.

Ticket holders need not be present to win, though they must be 18 years of age or older.

Tickets are $25 each or five tickets for $100. They are on sale now and may be obtained from any Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club member or by contacting Tracy Bennett at tbennett@fairpoint.net or 326-3800.

“Since only 250 tickets are being sold, the chances of winning something are about 1 in 10, though not every ticket is a guaranteed winner,” Bennett said.
