Brocton names top October students

Andrea Spiller

Lillian Zappie was selected by the Brocton Middle School faculty and staff as Student of the Month for October 2020. Lillian is currently a seventh-grader at Brocton and resides in Brocton with her parents, James and Kristin Zappie.

Lillian is a student of many talents. She is a demonstrator for Tap ‘n’ Toes Performing Arts and has taken English Riding lessons since the age of two with her horse, Fern. They competed in two Erie Hunt and Saddle Club shows prior to shutdown. She plays clarinet in band and has been on high honor roll since third grade. She plans to join the girls’ volleyball team, the school newspaper and Student Council.

Lillian is very civic-minded, closely following politics and current events. She attended the National Young Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. last year. She enjoys attending political rallies and feels strongly hopeful for a better future.

Lillian plans to attend college in Washington, D.C. to become a child defense attorney. Her favorite subject is English. She especially enjoys music, reading fiction books and persuasive writing.

Andrea Spiller was selected by the Brocton High School faculty and staff as Student of the Month for October 2020. Andrea is a freshman and the daughter of Kerri Marczynski and Mike Marczynski of Portland.

Lillian Zappie

Andrea is a well-rounded student-athlete. She is a member of the Modified Girls’ Volleyball Team and played Modified Softball. She has participated in Ballet and Tap for 7 years. She is a 5-year member of band and a 7-year member of chorus. She also sings on her church’s worship team.

Andrea previously received Student of the Month accolades in Middle School. She is consistently named to the Honor and High Honor Roll.

Andrea’s favorite subjects are Physical Education and Chorus. She plans to work hard and attend college in the future to be an athletic trainer or professional volleyball player.
