Police seek info after shooting injures 2
The Dunkirk Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance following a shooting incident Saturday that injured two people.
Officers responded around 1:30 p.m. to the area of Fifth and Main streets. According to reports, East Dunkirk and Sheridan firefighters were called about 15 minutes later to Urgent Care on Vineyard Drive for a person with a gunshot wound to the leg.
In a news release Monday, Dunkirk police noted that there were two victims, both of whom left the area prior to the arrival of officers.
“The victims were treated at separate facilities for non-life threatening injuries,” the department said.
No further information regarding the shooting was released Monday, though the department said an investigation remained ongoing.
