Silver Creek fireworks planned for July 3
SILVER CREEK — The village will be hosting its annual fireworks display on Saturday, July 3 at the Borrello Park at the foot of Jackson Street. The display will begin after dark.
Unlike other years, this year’s proceedings will feature some notable differences. For one, Borrello Park has become smaller from previous years, as it has lost frontage to Lake Erie. In addition, there will be no viewing on the Firehouse side of the lake, as they have requested it be closed.
The village will be using the grassy area directly behind the Firehouse parking lot, as well as the parking area at the Village Boat and Kayak launch for viewing, meaning there will be no parking allowed in that area. The Firehouse will however be open for business.
The village is suggesting residents use the municipal lot at the Fire Hall and walk to the display. They also recommend bringing your own chairs. There will be no band or concession at this year’s display, but porta-potties, hand washing stations, and sanitizer will be available.
Vaccinated individuals do not need masks, but those who are unvaccinated are asked to wear a mask and maintain social distance. Mayor Jeffrey Hornburg said the village is looking to return to somewhat normal conditions, and hopes that this is just the beginning.
