SHERIDAN –An accident involving a Silver Creek Central School District bus and two other vehicles shut down Route 20 at about 3 p.m. Friday in the town near the Thruway overpass and intersection with Stebbins Road.
Initial reports indicated at least three injuries. The school bus apparently took just a glancing blow, with slight damage on the driver’s side bumper, and the driver was said to be shook up but otherwise uninjured.
It was unclear if there were any children on the bus at the time of the accident. The other two vehicles involved sustained heavy damage.
The Sheridan, Silver Creek and Forestville fire departments were among the first responders, as were Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies and the New York State Police at Fredonia.
