Top student for October is named at Westfield schools

Katelyn Booth

Katelyn Booth, Westfield Academy and Central School’s October 2021 Scholar of the Month, is the daughter of Ms. Rachael James and Mr. John and Julie Booth Jr.

As a participant in the Jamestown Community College’s Connections Program, Katelyn enrolled in English 1510: English Composition I, English 1530: English Composition II, English 1540: Introduction to Literary Studies, Mathematics 1590: College Algebra/Trigonometry, as well as Communications 1610: Public Speaking. In addition, Katelyn is enrolled in BIO 100: Principles of Biology at the SUNY College at Buffalo.

At the end of her high school career, Katelyn will have earned 19 college credits from Jamestown Community College and SUNY College at Buffalo.

For local credit, Katelyn enrolled in Advanced Placement Microeconomics, We the People, Zoology, Functional Anatomy of the Limbs, and Physical Education.

Katelyn will graduate from Westfield Academy and Central School in June 2022 with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Mastery in Mathematics and Mastery in Science.

The Art Department at Westfield Academy continues to benefit from Katelyn’s participation in their program. She enrolled in Drawing, Painting, Drawing II, Painting II, Sculpture and AP 2-D Art and Design.

Katelyn is a member of several organizations and clubs at Westfield Academy. Katelyn is a member of National Honor Society and serves as President for the Class of 2022. She is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and won the Wells College 21st Century Leadership Award.

For the past several years, Katelyn has volunteered her time at Centaur Stride.

In the fall of 2022, Katelyn will attend college to pursue a degree in Equine Management and Rehabilitation Training.
