Class of ’55 plaque at Fredonia High praises ‘best years’

Fredonia High School’s Class of 1955 recently presented a plaque to the Fredonia Central School District as an expression of appreciation for the many educational and social experiences they received during their high school years.
Following their final class reunion several years ago, it was determined by the reunion committee that the balance of its reunion monies be applied to the purchase of such a gift which could be displayed in a prominent area of the high school.
The plaque is headed by the messages “Thanks for the Memories,” followed by the names of each of the members of the 1955 graduating class.
Originally the plaque was to be presented in lieu of the 65th class reunion, but COVID-19 restrictions delayed its presentation.
According to members of the reunion committee, “Fredonia High School provided our class members with many learnings, fond memories, and experiences which aided each former student with opportunities for a successful and productive future, for which they are very thankful.”
It is hoped that this plaque will be displayed and viewed for many years to come and to convey to present and future high school students that their high school years are important and may be the best years of their lives.
