12th Pet Weekend set for Lily Dale

Submitted photo The 12th annual Pet Remembrance Celebration is Saturday and Sunday in Lily Dale.

LILY DALE — Pets are often remembered just as other loved ones once they are no longer with us, gone but never forgotten.

This weekend is “Pet Weekend” in Lily Dale, as the 12th annual Pet Remembrance Celebration will provide those in attendance with a time of learning, joy and connection with pets, for those in our day-to-day lives currently and for those who have passed away. The event spans both Saturday and Sunday. Entrance cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children.

On Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the day begins with a “Special Healing Service” at the Healing Temple. Then in the afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., there will be a special auditorium service dedicated to pets with inspirational speaker Rev. Joanne Copley-Nigro.

Messages from International Animal Communicator Deb Stanton are also included with the cost of the event.

From 4:30-5:30 p.m., the auditorium will host a dog show called “The Dynamo Dog,” showcasing the skills of many rescued and adopted dogs. Dynamo Dogs have appeared at Westminster Dog Show, as well as performances on Purina Incredible Dog Team, Animal Planet’s Expos, David Letterman, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, the Today Show, and more.

Guests are encouraged to bring a photo to honor their pet. A guided historic tour of the Pet Cemetery will be offered. Registration will be online and in person for the workshops “Understand & Communicate with Pets Here & in Spirit” on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with International Animal Communicator Deb Stanton and on Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joanne Copley-Nigro “Pet Connections: Now & Forever.”
