Gowanda nears end of its capital improvements

GOWANDA — One of the two main buildings in the Gowanda Central School District is near the end of its capital improvements.

Recently, members of the Gowanda Board of Education took a tour of both the elementary and middle/high school complexes to see the progress of the capital building project. The elementary school has more ongoing construction of the two buildings, with construction expected to conclude by June 30. The middle/high school building is set to wrap up its improvements by Oct. 30.

“It’s really exciting. (There are) a lot of great enhancements. I really appreciate the board and the community support. … It will really enhance the educational experience of all these students,” said Dr. Robert Anderson, Gowanda superintendent.

One of the noted improvements is the middle/high school fitness center, which is nearing completion.

The Board of Education also praised the Gowanda Boosters and all those involved with the recent Homecoming festivities.

Anderson highlighted the district’s three principals for National Principal Month as “the great school leaders that they are.” Anderson also thanked the Board of Education for their service during National School Board Week. “It’s sometimes not very easy, but it’s always rewarding,” he said.
