Nestle Purina employees and city of Dunkirk officials gathered Friday to plant trees at the Hazelton Dog Park on Main Street Extension and celebrate the company’s contributions to the site.

The trees were donated by a Performance Acceleration Team, in town for the last six months from Nestle headquarters in Europe to learn about the Dunkirk Purina plant’s operations. The team and local Purina employees attended Friday’s event.

Purina also donated fencing and a $10,000 pledge to help get the park open in August 2019.

Dunkirk’s dog park is located at 855 Main St., near Williams Street.
