Raid busts nine

Nine individuals were arrested a bit before 4 p.m. on Thursday, after the end of a lengthy investigation by the City of Dunkirk Police and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, for the alleged manufacture and sale of methamphetamine and the sale of heroin at a 36 W. Fourth St. residence.

The following eight suspects are being held without bail pending arraignment.

Frederick H. Gutekunst, 24, of West Fourth Street in Dunkirk is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material.

Robert J. Kaczor Sr., 45, of West Fourth Street in Dunkirk is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, seventh-degree criminal possession on a controlled substance and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material.

Robert J. Kaczor Jr., 21, of West Fourth Street in Dunkirk is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material.

Sean P. Korzenski, 22, of East Main Road in Dunkirk is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Sean Henry, 36, of Angell Road in Silver Creek is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Aron Sikes, 22, of Howard Street in Fredonia is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Wendy S. Kaczor, 44, of West Fourth Street in Dunkirk is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, and four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Shelby L. Esperson, 19, of West Fourth Street in Dunkirk, is being charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material.

Officers from the Dunkirk Police Department Special Response Team, DPD Detective Bureau, the 3-11 Shift Patrol Officers, 11-7 Shift Patrol Officers, DPD K-9 Unit and agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force went to the West Fourth Street residence armed with a search warrant and battering rams.

While the house was being raided, the aforementioned eight individuals were reportedly found with quantities of materials and equipment used to manufacture methamphetamine, as well as scales, packaging materials and evidence of heroin and methamphetamine use.

All were charged with third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, a class D felony. The actual occupants of the apartment were also charged with unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material for exposing the general public to toxic materials that result from methamphetamine production, which they disposed of unsafely. Several of the individuals were also charged with counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for quantities of narcotic drugs that were found on their persons.

Among the alleged items seized were quantities of heroin, hydrocodone, other assorted controlled substance pills, hypodermic needles, drug packaging materials, scales, precursors of methamphetamine, chemical reagents, solvents and toxic waste byproducts.

The ninth individual, Brian Lidlow, 34, of Washington Avenue in Dunkirk, was also arrested when he reportedly showed up at the residence to buy drugs while the officers were executing the warrant. Multiple outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants were out for Lidlow’s arrest from the village of Fredonia and the town of Orchard Park. He is also being held without bail pending arraignment.
