A 23-year-old Fredonia man has been charged with first-degree criminal sexual act and resisting arrest after police say he had sexual contact with a victim less than 11 years old.

New York State Police at Fredonia arrested Scott W. Pierce on Friday. The alleged sexual contact occurred at a residence in the town of Pomfret.

Pierce was reportedly located on Third Street in the city of Dunkirk and resisted arrest when he was approached by troopers. Dunkirk Police responded and assisted with the arrest.

Pierce was processed at the Fredonia barracks and arraigned before Pomfret Town Justice Anthony Pulci. He was released to appear in Chautauqua County Probation on Monday.

The State Police ask anyone with information regarding additional victims to contact the Fredonia barracks at 679-1520.
