Nursing home facility to close in Dunkirk

OBSERVER Staff Report

Symphony Living at Dunkirk, the former St. Vincent Home in Dunkirk, is expected to close in early January.

Formerly owned by Catholic Health, the assisted living facility was sold with St. Francis of Williamsville, a 142-bed skilled nursing/subacute care facility and 117-bed St. Elizabeth’s Home of Lancaster to Comprehensive Healthcare Management Services LLC in January 2014.

Calls to Comprehensive Management Services in Pennsylvania were made, but no one could speak to the issue.

Symphony Living reportedly told residents and staff about the decision during the middle of this week. About 30 residents there will need to have a new location to live within four weeks.

Comprehensive Healthcare operates several nursing and adult homes in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Oklahoma and Missouri. The facility is located at 319 Washington Ave.

Starting at $3.50/week.
