A resident of One Temple Square appears to have died in a fire Friday afternoon.

According to Fredonia Fire Department Public Information Officer Kurt Maytum, around 3 p.m. firefighters were called to an apartment fire on the second floor of the complex. Upon arrival, a deceased individual was found, who appeared to have died in the blaze.

Maytum said fire was contained to the one room. A Chautauqua County coroner was called to the scene.
