Bemus Bay Pops won’t return this year

BEMUS POINT — After more than two decades, the Bemus Bay Pops will not be returning this summer.

On the Bemus Bay Pop’s Facebook page, chairman Dan Dalpra announced the Bemus Bay Pops will not be in operation during this upcoming 2018 summer season.

“We hope this is not the final curtain; but rather the start of our second act,” he wrote. “After 20 years being located in the Bemus Bay, we are currently searching for a new location to call home. We are striving to find the perfect destination for expanding this summer program to accommodate a growing following and continue to provide community minded art and entertainment events to the people of this beautiful region. We have tirelessly searched other communities, contacted local Dalpra thanked the community for their support. “The outpouring comments of love, support and disappointment we have received inspires us to work even harder during this transition. Visitors have traveled from all around the world to catch a glimpse of this incredibly unique venue we are blessed to have in our backyard. Families plan their vacations around this summer program. We hope everyone will continue to support and donate generously to our proven $14 million regional economical development project as we move forward to keep the Pops alive,” he wrote.

Dalpra said they are hoping to find a new location where they can relocate in 2019.
