A tractor-trailer accident closed a portion of Route 20 for two hours Monday morning. At about 2:50 a.m., Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies came across the trailer that had slid off the road on Route 20 and was blocking both lanes of traffic. The operator, Joseph Biggers, 50, of Sinclairville was attempting to make a right turn from New Road to Route 20 when the tractor trailer slid off of the roadway into a snow embankment and became stuck, blocking both lanes of State Route 20. No injuries or damage were reported. New York State Police, Sheridan Fire Department and Evans Mechanical assisted.
OBSERVER Photo left by J.M. Lesinski. A tractor trailer faced an issue at the corner of Ice Cream Drive and Bennett Road in Dunkirk occurred Tuesday. It appears that the trailer somehow detached from the rig, causing mild traffic congestion in the immediate area.
