Driver killed in accident

DAYTON -- A 22-year-old man died in a car accident Saturday morning.

At around 6:15 a.m., Austin P. Elliott was the single occupant of a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze that was traveling east bound on East Leon Road at the Wolf Road intersection in the Town of Dayton. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on a curve, causing him to leave the roadway and strike a tree. There was extensive damage to the vehicle.

Elliott was pronounced dead on the scene. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department did not release his name, but his obituary is in today's OBSERVER. Investigation is ongoing.
