Fredonia plans update Sunday on boil-water order
Village of Fredonia officials have announced Saturday morning they will be addressing the boil-water order during a press conference Sunday.
The event will take place at 5 p.m. at Village Hall.
Since Sept. 10, the village has faced a boil-water emergency due to algal blooms in the reservoir and the need for replacement of filters at the water treatment plant.
During the process, it has created a hardship on some businesses — mainly restaurants — and the State University of New York at Fredonia campus. It also was a topic of debate at the last Village Board meeting on Monday.
This is the second time in three years the village has been in a boil-water state.
