RANDOLPH — Wilson Endurance Sports continued their busy summer and fall lineup of events, hosting the fourth Annual Amish Country Running Festival on Sept. 25.
The Amish Country Running Festival is a crowd favorite of the events put on by Wilson Endurance Sports. It features five separate events, beginning and ending at the parking lot of the East Randolph United Methodist Church.
The track takes runners through the beautiful hills of Amish Country, and those that do the longer distances get to see more of those hills. The festival had 140 participants, with people travelling from all over New York and beyond, including Hawaii, Arizona, Connecticut, and many states in between. Mark and Tonia Wilson, the owners of Wilson Endurance Sports, are hoping that the large group of runners who typically come from Canada will be able to join them again next year. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, they have lacked that turnout they are used to.
Participants had access to fully stocked aid stations every mile, and a fabulous post-race meal provided by Randolph’s A-Z Catering. Southern Tier Brewing Co. provided a beer zone, and participants also received finisher medals, race t-shirts, and Wilson Endurance Sports memorabilia. The race was put on in part by Randolph and Conewango Volunteer Fire Police.
This event is one of 22 produced by Wilson Endurance Sports; owned and operated by former Randolph residents, Mark and Tonia Wilson. This event was supported by National and Local Sponsors; Hammer Nutrition, Southern Tier Security, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Doctor Hoy’s, Mike Frame Images & Computer Consulting, Owl Homes of Fredonia, East Randolph United Methodist Church, Lactalis American Group, Cardinal Hills Golf Course and Country Club, Cattaraugus County Bank, Gabel Brothers Furniture & Appliances, Landmark Chevrolet, Dowiasz Auto Service Tire & Detail Center, Maplehurst Country Club , Register Graphics, Simply Natural Alpaca Gift Shop, Southern Tier Trailer Sales, Inc., Southern Tier Professional Pest Control, Inc. , Randolph Peaches and Cream, Shave Secret, Tops Friendly Markets and a tourism grant provided by the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County.
