Joint Veterans Council announces award recipient

At a recent meeting of the Chautauqua County Joint Veterans Council, held at Fredonia American Legion Post 59, a special proclamation was given to its 2022 scholarship winner.

The JVC Scholarship recipient was on hand to accept her award toward assisting with her expenses in attending college in the fall. Brynne Conley, a 2022 graduate of Southwestern High School was chosen from her academic merits and sports participation, but above all her community involvement. Brynne logged a great many hours on a roster of many different subjects in and around her community. Her ambitions are to follow in her parents footsteps and become an educator.

Brynne is the daughter of Pete and Jody Conley from Lakewood, as well as the granddaughter of the late Ann Dahlberg and Bryan Dahlberg who is a member of the Ellery Center VFW, and current mayor of Bemus Point .

The Joint Veterans Council is an organization of affiliated veterans clubs across all of Chautauqua County and it provides essential communications and outreach between different veterans associations. The collective participation and support of the many individual groups make the allowance of this award possible.
