Cassadaga man charged in June theft of catalytic converters

A Cassadaga man, wanted in connection with the theft of catalytic converters, turned himself in to authorities on Thursday.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported that on June 8, an investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division. It was determined that Chase R. Jones, 26, had damaged vehicles from a New Road business in the town of Sheridan by cutting out the converters.

Jones, who was charged with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of third-degree auto stripping and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief will be in Sheridan town court later.
