A former Silver Creek car dealership and the White Inn in Fredonia were among the real estate sales recorded in the first half of August.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate transactions in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the sales from Aug. 1-15.

During that time period, Damon Motors Inc. sold 120 Central Ave., Silver Creek to KRD Enterprises LLC of Silver Creek for $280,000. Damon Motors was a former car dealership in the village. According to Silver Creek Village Board minutes, Kuppel Tires opened in the old Damon Motors building in September.

Also during that time period, JG Funding Corp. of Staten Island, NY sold 52-60 East Main St., Fredonia to D&S White Inn, LLC of Fredonia for $430,000. The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency previously stated that local business leader Steve St. George, owner of St. George Enterprises, Inc., along with restaurant partner Devin Jones, were purchasing the historic White Inn in downtown Fredonia for an undisclosed amount. The IDA and other governmental agencies have been helping apply for grants for the White Inn, which is expected to cost millions of dollars to refurbish.

There were two other business sales that included downtown business districts.

Lucas Engineering Concepts LLC of Mayville purchased 34 S. Erie St. for $325,000. No announcement has been made what will be coming to the downtown building. A building permit is on display in the business window.

Also, RF&B Properties LLC of Sherman purchased 100-104 East Main St., Sherman for $100,000. This is the location of Murdocks Family Restaurant, which has closed.

From Aug. 1-15, there were 197 real estate transactions, 137 of which were higher than $1. Of the 137 real estate sales, 14 real estate sales were $250,000 or higher. Four of them were in the town of Chautauqua (includes one sale in the village of Mayville), two were in the town of Pomfret (includes one sale in the village of Fredonia), two in the town of Mina, one sale was made each in the towns of North Harmony, Sheridan, Ellicott, Carroll, and one sale each in the villages of Lakewood and Silver Creek.

Excluding the three business sales mentioned earlier, the remaining 11 sales that were $250,000 or higher are as follows:
