Submitted Photo Freddy the Festivals Fredonia Elf has returned to the area again this holiday season for the third straight year.

Freddy the Festivals Fredonia Elf is visiting the area again for the third consecutive year, with prizes available to those who find him and share in the holiday joy.

“It’s always a nice event. It has really caught on,” said Larry Fiorella, Festivals Fredonia President. “We’ve been getting a lot of messages and questions about it already.”

Freddy, a giant inflatable Elf, visits various host families and area businesses around the Fredonia-Pomfret area. He stays at each location for two nights and can be found from 6 to 9 p.m., weather permitting.

Each time Freddy moves to a new location, clues are posted on the Festivals Fredonia Facebook page and in the Freddy the Elf Facebook Event running through Dec. 24.

When someone finds Freddy, pose for a picture, then email the photo to FreddyFFElf@gmail.com and post it on Facebook using #FreddyFFElf to be entered into a drawing on Dec. 26 where one winner will be randomly selected.

The more locations you visit and submit a photo with Freddy, the more chances you have to win. Fiorella anticipates a good number of submissions around two dozen posts a year ago.

“It’s nice to get the kids and the community involved,” Fiorella said.
